What does a sports massage involve?
Sports massage is the manipulation of muscle fibres to remove adhesions and improve movement.
Initially we will discuss with you a little about your medical/activity history and what the desired outcome of the massage will be.
You will then be made comfortable on a massage bed and we will focus on the areas discussed. Warming up the muscles first and then applying more directed pressure to the muscle fibres to remove knots and adhesions.

What does acupuncture involve?
Acupuncture involves inserting thin, sterile needles into specific body points to stimulate nerves, muscles, and improve energy flow (Qi). My clients typically lie on a table while 5–20 needles are inserted for 20–30 minutes, often causing a slight, fleeting pinch followed by relaxation or deep heaviness. The needles are tiny- the size of a human hair- so designed to be practically painless.
How much does it cost?
See our services/prices page
Will it hurt?
Acupuncture: No- the needles are about the width of a human hair and are designed to be painless. You may feel a slight prick although many clients don't feel that at all. You may feel a sensation of warmth or pressure when the needles are inserted and most people find the process relaxing!
Sports massage: In short, yes- it can be painful at times, but I work with each client individually to assess your tolerance to pressure. Sports massage works on your muscular fibers to remove knots and adhesions which may have built up over time.
If you have many knots and adhesions the massage will be uncomfortable in parts, but you will see the most benefits (and feel great afterwards!).

What do I wear?
In general a pair of loose fitting shorts and top would be fine, or even just your underwear.
You will be left alone to get comfortable on the massage bed prior to the massage and you will be covered in a towel while being massaged.
Your dignity and modesty will be respected at all times.

Do I come to you, or you come to me?
Either.
I am based in Blackrod, Bolton, and have facilities for you to park, change and have your consultation/massage.
If preferred, we can be mobile across the Bolton, Wigan and Chorley areas for a slight increase in costs (see services/prices). We will bring all necessary equipment to you: all you need is enough space for a massage bed and sufficient walking space around it.
If you live further afield, we can give you a quote for mobile services- see 'Contact' for ways to get in touch for a price.
